3. What makes Hey Buddy unique?
Hey Buddy is unique because we sell pet products and treats out of our brightly colored, pet friendly, convenient, easily accessible pet supply vending machines. Through our patented distribution model, Hey Buddy is serving a niche that no one else does.
4. What type of products does Hey Buddy offer?
Hey Buddy offers a full spectrum of pet products and treats. Items like retractable dog leads, waste bag holders/refills, chew toys, plush toys, balls, flyers, food and treats. Hey Buddy also offers purified waters and hydration drinks for pets and their parents. Additionally, Hey Buddy offers many unique items that you typically will not find in major retail stores. Items like K9 Quencher, BarkBars, Edible Birthday Cards and many unique/seasonal gifts.
5. How much do the products cost?
The typical products in a Hey Buddy machine range from $1 to $10. As a franchisee, you will be able to purchase products at wholesale prices directly from Hey Buddy and it's approved suppliers.
6. Can I stock the machine with my own products?
Products in the machine must be from Hey Buddy or an approved supplier. However, we want you to have the flexibility to merchandise a portion of your machine. Therefore, you will be given one shelf in each machine that you can have customized offerings. Hey Buddy must approve all products prior to them being offered.
7. Why do I have to purchase products through Hey Buddy?
There are many reasons why Hey Buddy has to manage the product flow. Some of the 'key' reasons are:

8. How much help will I be given when selecting a site and installing my machines?
Hey Buddy will provide you with as much help and direction as we can. However, you are ultimately responsible for finding and securing your placement locations and installing your machine.
We do this for two reasons:
- You live in the area. Your intimate knowledge of your market far exceeds any research reports and demographic studies we could provide. You know where the dogs are, literally.
- The added cost to your franchise for Hey Buddy to locate placements and install your machines would not be economically advantageous to your business. Our goal is to help you grow your business and provide you with the best possible return on your investment. By locating your own placements and installing your own machines, you will further maximize your ROI. Remember, your success is our success.
9. How do HEY BUDDY! machines differ from traditional vending machines?
HEY BUDDY! machines are traditional vendors that have been modified, trademarked and offer the latest technologies. However, in our opinion, they are so much more. HEY BUDDDY! PET SUPPLY CONVENIENCE CENTERS are simply, unattended retail stores. We are always offering unique items, keeping our merchandising fresh, displaying seasonal items and promoting our business.
10. Is it hard to learn how to operate the machines?
No. If you can load a dishwasher and program a cell phone, you can learn one of our machines. Fortunately, what we do is not 'rocket science'. You will have access to complete training and full technical support from our manufacturer.
11. Can you place the machines in any climate?
Hey Buddy has machines designed for all climates. If the machine is inside or outside, in California or Canada, we've got a solution for you.
12. How much training will I receive? Is it ongoing?
If you purchase 3 or more machines, we offer a one day training program at our corporate offices in Dallas, TX. *Coming to Dallas is not mandatory and is at your discretion and expense. Additionally, you will receive an Operations Manual that is designed to help you launch and operate your Hey Buddy franchise. Our support is available to you on an ongoing and unlimited basis. *Area Developers are required to attend.
13. What is my projected ramp-up period?
Upon your acceptance and signing of the franchise agreement, you will receive your starter kit, initial inventory and machine(s) within approximately 30 days. From that point, it will be in direct relation to your efforts in securing your placement locations.
14. What can I expect to make from my business?
Income from each Hey Buddy franchise varies based on many variables, for example, placement location, market size, demographics, efforts made by owners, competency and economic factors
15. Where does my revenue come from?
Primary revenue comes from product sales out of the machine. Product is purchased at wholesale and sold at retail. Secondary revenue comes from advertising sales. We utilize the space on the exterior of our 'dog housing' to sell display advertising. Additional revenue comes from any other creative way you can think of to make money with your HEY BUDDY! machines. Just remember to get our 'buy-in' first. Remember, we have to protect the brand. In regards to developing new revenue streams and maximizing existing revenue streams, Hey Buddy is constantly seeking strategic partnerships that will benefit the entire Hey Buddy family.
16. How much are the franchise fees?
Hey Buddy does not charge a designated franchise fee. This is by design. Our focus is on growing an international brand and having over one thousand placement locations within the next 3-5 years. We don't want our partners to have all their capital 'tied up' in excessive franchise fees. We would prefer that you have your capital available to you to grow your Hey Buddy business. Our Initial Franchise Package Fee ranges from $4,195 to $8,195. Our franchise packages include your Hey Buddy! machine(s) delivered to your location, use of our patent and service mark, Operations Manual, initial inventory, logoed shirt, and, if you purchase 3 or more machines, a one day training program at our corporate offices. Additionally, Hey Buddy does not require you to pay any ongoing royalties or payments. Most franchisors charge high franchise fees and take a percentage of your gross sales and then charge a fixed advertising fee. With Hey Buddy, you don't pay fees based on sales totals.
17. How much do the machines cost?
Our trademarked HEY BUDDY! machines are included in your franchise package. These are top-of-the-line machines that come fully equipped with the latest technologies. These machines have guaranteed product delivery and they accept all coins, bills and custom coupons. Additionally, they can be equipped with remote monitoring software and credit card terminals. How cool is that? *Multi-unit franchises receive excellent discounts.
18. Do you provide financing for the machines?
Neither we nor any affilate currently offer, directly or indirectly, any financing arrangements to any franchisee. However, as a courtesy to our franchisees, we have introduced our franchise program to one finance company, VendLease, which is prepared to issue loans for the initial franchise fee package to franchisees that meet the qualifications that VendLease alone will determine.
19. How much time will I need to spend on my Hey Buddy business each week?
That decision is entirely up to you. You can maintain a full-time job and watch over the business part-time. Or, you can make Hey Buddy your full time job. Depending on your circumstances, it can work both ways.
20. Do I get an exclusive territory with my Hey Buddy franchise?
Exclusive territories are available with Hey Buddy. To qualify, you must join Hey Buddy as an area developer. Your territory radius and development fee is dependent upon market density and demographics.
